I graduated from East Carolina University with a B.S. in Child Development and Family Relations. After graduation I worked as a professional nanny for three years before having my first son in 2017. Maverick's birth was the catalyst for my interest in birth work. I had an amazing Doula who brought to light how important support is during a woman's journey to becoming Mama.
I started Making Mamas with the intention of helping to bridge the gap in support many women have when they decide to start families. Having a person in your corner offering hands on support and gentle education on the many decisions that need to be made throughout the process is the one of the most important indicators in a successful and uncomplicated birthing experience.
